“Also, I want to use this opportunity to thank His Excellency, the former governor of Kano state, Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, for bringing this developmental project to our dear state. May God reward him for his effort.”

In his welcome address, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Abdurrahamn Abba Sheshe, said the project is part of Shekarau’s constituency projects, which he started in 2021.

“The old pharmacy block was very small and congested. That is why we made a request to Senator Shekarau to come and build this block for us, so that it will serve as an extension to the old one. The project is part of Shekarau’s constituency projects, which he started in 2021, and today we are commissioning it. He equipped it with all the good facilities in order for us to have a good atmosphere.”

In a remark, Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau said improving health service is one of his top priorities and he will not hesitate to do anything that will improve the sector.

“When I found myself as a member of the health committee at the National Assembly, I told myself that this was a very golden opportunity for me to bring a lot of development to my dear state. The health sector is one of the areas that are my top priority, and I will do anything within my power to improve it. As a leader, if you cannot protect the lives of citizens, provide sound education to them, and also provide a good health care service to them, then you are useless.”

“Within the time that I spent in the national assembly, I have done a lot in the education sector. We built so many blocks in schools, and in the health sector also we have done a lot. And of course, even today we are here to commission one of the buildings that we built in the health sector.”

“This place is named after my mother. I want you to know I have no hand in this. The management of the hospital are the one that insisted that they wanted to name it after my mother. I tried to reject the idea but they overpowered me.”

“Even my presence here, it was the CMD that insisted that I should be part of the occasion. If not, I would not have been here. But anyway, on behalf of my family, I want to thank the management of this hospital for honoring me by naming this place after my mother.”
