Maikatanga wins 3rd prize award in Africa-China photo journalist contest

A prominent photographer in Northern Nigeria, Sani Muhammad Maikatanga has clinched third position in the Africa-China Photo Forum and Exhibition 2023.

Maikatanga who is a Kano based was recently announced the winner in third place of the prestigious Africa China Journalist Forum where photographers from across Africa showcased their talent and creativity.

SOLACEBASE reports that Maikatanga’s photo captured the attention of both the jury and the audience, showcasing a unique perspective on the cultural exchange and human connections between Africa and China.

Through his lens, he skilfully highlighted the shared experiences, traditions, and aspirations of both continents, providing a compelling visual narrative that resonated deeply with the viewers.

Sani Muhammad Maikatanga expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the power of photography as a universal language that transcends borders.

The exhibition took place at the Atrium Hall, Johannesburg South Africa, Ndvolu clinched first prize while Ihsaan Haffejee won the 2nd prize both from South Africa. While Sani Mohammed Maikatanga emerged as 3rd Prize winner from Nigeria.
