Abba Gida Gida loses grandmother, Hajiya Mowa at 103

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) gubernatorial flag-bearer for Kano State 2023 general elections, Engr. Abba K Yusuf has lost his grand-mother, Hajia Aishatu Ahmad Sufi.

Solacebase reports that Hajia Mowa as she is popularly known died in the early hours of Friday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) at the age of 103 .

This was contained in a statement by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa , the Spokesperson to Engr. Abba K Yusuf, and sent to Solacebase on Friday.

‘’With the heavy heart and total submission to the will of almighty Allah, we are saddened to announce the passing away of Hajia Aishatu Ahmad Sufi.’’

The statement said late Hajia Aisha Sufi is survived by her brother Alkali Hussaini Sufi, three of her children which include Malama Khadijatul-Najaatu, the mother of Abba Gida Gida with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

‘’The deceased husband, a popular Islamic scholar Sheikh Abubakar Na Wali died in 1965, ‘’the statement said.

‘’She will be buried according to Islamic rites as the Janaza is scheduled to take place at the Emir’s Palace Jamaat Mosque, Kano by 2pm today Insha Allah.’’
