Abba K. Yusuf Receives 2019 Outstanding Politician Award

A Kaduna based women organization, Kigo Matan Kwarai Co-operative Society on Sunday awarded Engr. Abba K. Yusuf popularly called Abba Gida Gida the outstanding politician of the year 2019.

Presenting the various categories of the awards at the annual launching and award ceremony, the President of the group Hajiya Fatima Ladi said Abba Gida Gida deserves to be recognized as the most outstanding politician for running a peaceful campaign and engaging youth in politics without violence during the 2019 election.

She said Abba K Yusuf deserves the award being the most popular governorship candidate in northern Nigeria that was a subject of discussion in many states, but after the election, Abba did not instigate his supporters to create chaos and that makes Kano maintain relative peace at the post-election level.

The awardees who bagged various categories of awards include Bunun Zazzau, General Sani Sule (rtd) and Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

While presenting a keynote address at the event, Engr. Abba K. Yusuf represented by his Spokesperson Alhaji Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa said women empowerment remains a catalyst for social and economic inclusion of the marginalized and vulnerable groups of the society.

Kigo Matan Kwarai Co-operative Society is a group of notable women who are committed to improving the livelihood of women in Northern Nigeria.
