Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Adamu Ciroma, has died at the age of 84.
A family source said on Thursday afternoon that the elder statesman died at a hospital in Abuja.
A prominent politician, Ciroma served as minister of finance under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He was a founding member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He was also minister of agriculture and managing director of New Nigerian newspapers.
