Alleged Fraud: Kano anti-graft agency releases governor’s aide, Ali Baba Fagge on bail

The Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, to Kano State Governor, Ali Baba Fagge has been released on bail by Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission over alleged fraud.

Solacebase reports that the antigraft agency recently said it received complaints of alleged deduction of money meant for some religious leaders in the state at a special prayer organized by the governor on COVID-19 by the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Ali Baba Fagge.

Hence the Commission launched an investigation into the issue.

Reliable sources at the commission told Solacebase that the governor’s aide was invited for interrogation on Friday with two of his children and others.

Ali Baba Fagge who arrived at the commission at about 2.00 pm was grilled by investigators and later released on bail at about 6.30 pm and left the antigraft office together with Lawmaker representing Fagge federal constituency at the National Assembly, Comrade Aminu Sulyman Goro.

”He was released on administrative bail and expected to make himself available whenever needed,” said a source.

The sources, however, said the governor’s aide children are still under interrogation with two others as they were found culpable in the alleged offence.

‘’They are the ones that distributed the forms meant for the Islamic Cleric that were given N50,000 each to their friends and unqualified persons.

The sources told Solacebase that they are likely to be prosecuted if found guilty, although so far they have questions to answer.
