The Chairman of the Commission, Mr Muhyi Magaji disclosed this while briefing newsmen on Wednesday in Kano over the development.

It could be recalled that Ali Baba Fagge was recently invited with his children by the Commission following complaints of alleged deduction of money meant for some religious leaders in the state at a special prayer organized by the governor on COVID-19.

Solacebase reports that the commission Chairman was reacting to an online report on why the antigraft agency would not prosecute the governor’s aide.

‘’Its funny that I was quoted out of context, because basically, the commission has conducted so many investigations, recovered multi million naira assets without prosecution, said Muhuyi Magaji.

‘’So what I am saying categorically is if at the end of the investigation of Ali Baba Fagge, he is found to be very culpable, we would surely take him or whoever is involved to court.’’

According to Magaji, seven out of the 10 people Fagge was giving their money, complaints of deduction from the N50,000 to be giving to them, which the Commission embarked on the investigation.

He said, “During the investigation, we have discovered that not as people were saying that Fagge carted away with millions of naira.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect was giving N50,000 each for 10 people, but along the way, some of them were forced to return part of the money.

“I want to assure you that we have recovered N310,000, and we have returned the money to the affected people.

“But we have widened our investigation on the issue to find out if other beneficiaries were also affected, because, no fewer than 350 people were engaged in the prayer session.
