Alleged Land Scam: Court dismisses suit restraining Kano Anti-Corruption from investigating Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II

The Federal High Court sitting in Kano on Monday presided by Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa dismissed a suit filed by 14^th Fulani Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, seeking an order to restrained Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission from Investigating him over an alleged land scam.

Solacebase recalled that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating the 14^th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II over allegation of N2.2 billion land racketeering at Gandu Sarki.

Muhammadu Sanusi II had sued the Kano State Governor, Commissioner for Justice, the commission and its Chairman requesting the court to restrained the defendants from investigating him on the issue.

The court had granted an interim order directing parties to maintain status-quo pending hearing of the substantive suit brought before him by the Plaintiff, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II in March.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, the presiding Judge, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa dismissed the suit on the ground that the fundamental rights of the 14^th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II was not infringed upon with the investigation.

However, Counsels to the parties were not in court at the ruling.
