Delegates at the Jigawa State Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday returned all former party executives for another four year term.
The election which was held in Dutse, was done through consensus
leading to the return of all the 35 former executives.
Speaking at the end of the exercise, Chairman, Committee for the Congress, Alhaji Ahmed Umar, said all the executives were returned unopposed.
Umar named some of the reelected executives to include Alhaji Ado Sani, State Chairman and Hajiya Binta Farindutse, Women Leader, among others.
Also in Borno, delegates at state APC Congress unanimously reaffirmed the re-election of all 37 executives of the party for the next four years.
Tijjani Zakari, the Chairman of the Congress Committee, disclosed this shortly after the congress at the El-Kanemi Warriors Stadium in Maiduguri.
According to him, all the executives were endorsed unopposed in compliance with article 20 of the party’s Constitution.
“The congress today is a family gathering and there is no winner no vanquish. Whoever won is a party member and whoever lost is still a party member.
“A total of 1, 726 delegates were accredited for the congress and if there is any candidate who is opposing the candidature of the 37 executives should come out for election.
“In the absence of none, I therefore announced that all the candidates as returned unopposed,” he said.(NAN)
