”Appeal for reinstatement of Mallam Sanusi as emir, dissolution of other emirates will do Kano no good”- Another group writes assembly
A group, Society for Peace Development and Education has described a letter written by what it called a shadowy organization, named ‘’Yar Dangwalen Jihar Kano’’ for the dissolution of newly created emirates in Kano and reinstatement, of Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II as Emir as politically motivated and can sparke crisis in the peace already existing in the state.
SOLACEBASE recalled that a group ‘’Yar Dangwalen Jihar Kano’’ had written the Kano State House Assembly in a letter dated February 5th, 2024 asking for the dissolution of emirates that include Karaye, Gaya, Bichi, and Rano with the reinstatement of Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II as Emir of Kano.
The group said in the letter that doing so would enhance peace and unity in the state.

However, in a letter dated February 8th, 2024, addressed to the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, sighted by SOLACEBASE, the Society for Peace Development and Education urged the lawmakers to jettison the call for the dissolution of the four emirates and reinstatement of the former emir as the move would do no good to the people of the state and create more chaos.
The letter was signed by the group’s Secretary General, Mùrtala Musa Lisa, and titled Re’’-joinder: Request to dissolve Emirs of Kano State and reinstate HRH San’si Lamido Sanusi.
It described as absurd the fictitious organization appeals to the Kano State House of Assembly, through the Speaker, to amend the law which created the five emirates Councils of Kano State. Stating that doing so will foster unity and cohesion among the citizens of the State.

According to the Society for Peace Development and Education, this is a categorical and blatant lie. ”Because since the creation of the Emirates, people of the 5 Emirates are living with one another peacefully without any known problem whatsoever.
‘’This is because it is a well-known historical fact that, these Emirates were in existence before being merged by the colonial and through rival wars among different entities before the advent of the colonial rulers. So, their creation was just a remaking of the history which is in the best interest of the people of the areas in particular and the State in general,’’ the letter read in part.
It also asked rhetorically, ‘’And by the way what offence would you charge Emir Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero of committing, to warrant his removal.’’
‘’We, therefore, call on all peace-loving people of Kano and beyond, to as a matter of urgency in the interest of peace and stability, call those behind this unguided agitation to order, because it will do no one good at the end.’’
‘’We already know that the request was politically motivated and are aware of those behind it, so, let us warn those behind the scene politicians that, this will not do any good to them or their political ambitions now and in the future.’’
‘’We finally, want to use this medium to call on His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State and The Right Honourable Speaker of Kano State Assembly and relevant security organizations to as a matter of urgency for the sake of peace and stability of Kano to call on these disgruntled politicians to stop this unguided playing with fire.’’
