Atiku leads PDP protest march on INEC headquarters, presents letter of demands

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar is leading other party leaders on a protest march on the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Monday.

Atiku arrived at Legacy House, the presidential campaign headquarters of the PDP at 11am where he joined other PDP leaders who had gathered at the premises and awaiting his arrival.

The protest march took off about 11:10 am. Joined in the march are the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

Also joining the protest are the chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees (Bot), Senator Adolphus Wabara; Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal; Chief Raymond Dokpesi; former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna among other chieftains.

Addressing journalists at the INEC headquarters, Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku said they were at the INEC headquarters to present their letter to the electoral umpire on their position on the election.

”We are cheated in the presidential election, and we have come to express our position on the development, ”Ishaku said.

On his part, Atiku Abubakar said all the electoral process was flawed.

”We complained to INEC from the collation Centre that we are not okay with the way the results have been released but they refused,” Atiku said.

Atiku said the protest would continue on a daily basis to press home their points.

SOLACEBASE reports that the protest letter was latter presented to INEC, represented by Festus Okoye and Haruna Muhammad among others.
