Bandits abduct Katsina varsity students
The Katsina State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the abduction of five students of the Federal University, Dutsinma.
The police also confirmed that a man suspected to be an informant to the terrorists had been arrested
No details concerning the incident were however provided as of Wednesday morning.
The spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident and the arrest.
He said, “Yes, the incident happened. An arrest has been made. I cannot say anything more than that for now as I am on my way to the institution. Our men are already on the ground there and are on top of the situation.”
However, residents revealed that the terrorists invaded the private residence of the victims around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, shooting indiscriminately.

Some residents also claimed that all five kidnapped students were female and were final-year students.
The university spokesman, Habib Umar, also confirmed the abduction to SOLACEBASE.

Umar said the students were abducted outside the campus as those kidnapped reside off campus.
‘’We are collaborating with the security agents to ensure the safe return of the abducted students.
