Book launch, showers of encomium as Prof. Yadudu bows out after 4 decades at BUK

A book titled ‘The Jurisprudence of Nigerian Constitution: Essay in Honour of Prof. Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu: A Preview was launched on Thursday and encomiums were showered in honour of the celebrant, Prof. Auwal Yadudu as he retired from active service after 44 years.

In an event organized by the Faculty of Law Bayero University Kano (BUK) held at Dangote Business School BUK, the Vice Chancellor (VC) BUK, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas described Professor Yadudu as a success story worth emulating.

Represented at the occasion by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Muhammad Sani Gumel, the VC stated that Professor Yadudu’s positive contributions to the academic sector and the nation, in general, would forever be referred to and that Professor Yadudu’s role in the history of Nigerian constitution would never be forgotten.

SOLACEBASE reports that the seventeen-chapter and 439-page book published by Hallmark Publishing Nigeria Ltd in 2023, signposts some insight and perspectives of the Honouree, Professor Yadudu, on constitution making, review, and reform.

The book was written by Prof Muhammed Tawfiq Ladan and the forward by Prof.

Earlier in his speech, former President, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud (SAN) described Prof Yadudu’s contribution as unquantifiable adding that he hoped his retirement from scholarly service wouldn’t deter him from rendering his professional experience in national development.

Similarly, the reviewer of the book Prof Adamu Kyuka Usman described the book written in honour of Prof Yadudu as certified reference materials worth having in all places that are related to law and jurisprudence.

Notable personalities and students of Professor Yadudu as well as other dignitaries graced the occasion.

They include Waziri Dutse and former BUK Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dandatti Abdulkadir, and former minister, Barr. Bashir Dalhatu, Former INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Katsina State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, former Chief Executive Officer, Kaduna Electric Holding Company KAEDCO, Alhaji Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar (Mai Rago), Kano State Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Haruna Dederi and Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimigado, among others.
