BREAKING: Court Stops Ganduje From Creating Kano State Council Of Chiefs
A Kano High Court presided by Justice A.T Badamosi on Tuesday stopped Governor Abdullahi Ganduje from establishing Kano state Council of Chiefs and appointment of members.
Solacebase recalled that Ganduje appointed Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi on Monday as Chairman of the Councils with other members.
Solacebase reports that the plaintiffs in the suit, the Kano Emirate Kingmakers are Yusuf Nabahani (Madakin Kano), Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim (Makama Kano), Bello Abubakar (Sarkin Dawaki Mai Tuta) and Muktar Adnan ( Sarkin Ban Kano).

The defendants in the suit are Speaker Kano State House of Assembly, first respondent, Kano State House of Assembly, second respondent, Governor of Kano State, third respondent, Attorney General of Kano State, fourth respondent, Tafida Abubakar Ila, fifth respondent, Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya sixth respondent, Ibrahim Abubakar, seventh respondent, and Aminu Ado Bayero, eight respondent.
The Court granted an ordered of interim injunction restraining the third respondent, Abdullahi Ganduje from taking away the functions and powers of the Applicants under the Kano State Emirates Council Law, 2019.
The other was granted upon hearing Barr. Suraj Sa’eda, SAN in a motion ex-parte dated December 9, attached with court processes as well as exhibits.
The presiding Judge, Justice Ahmed Tijjani Badamosi then adjourned to 17th December for hearing of the motion on notice
