1

The Supreme Court has strike out an appeal filed by a Kano PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Ibrahim Ali-Amin (Little), challenging the nomination of Abba Kabir Yusuf as the candidate of the party.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said the appeal was dismissed for want of diligent prosecution.

On April 18, a Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna upheld the appeal Abba Kabir Yusuf, challenging a Federal High Court’s order that sacked him as the party’s candidate.

Delivering the judgment on Tuesday, Justice Tanko Hussaini said the Federal High Court in Kano erred in law by assuming jurisdiction without the plaintiff, Ibrahim Little, joining the necessary party, Abba Yusuf.

Justice Tanko Hussaini also said Ibrahim Ali-Amin (Little) lacked locus standi to institute action challenging the process that he did not participate in.
