BUK final year student dies

A final year (Spill over 1) student, Babangida Ahmad from the Department of Library and Information Science, Bayero University Kano BUK, is dead.

According to a statement issued by the university Deputy Registrar, Public Affairs Lamara Garba, Ahmed died today, Friday, 28th January.

Solacebase reports that the deceased, who hail from Misau town in Bauchi state was said to have, in the early hours of Friday 28th January, 2022  collapsed in his hostel while preparing to go to mosque for the early Morning Prayer according to his roommates.

‘’Already, the University Management had contacted his parents about the incident and would be taken to his home town for burial according to Islamic rites,’’ the statement said.

‘’According to one of his colleagues, the late Babangida went out of the room around 4:30 am where he suddenly slumped and was not breathing with no sign of life even before rushing to the University Clinic in the Campus.’’

‘’He was said to have been brought in dead (BID) to the University Clinic.’’

The statement said prior to his death, the deceased has been visiting Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) where he had been seeing a doctor on certain undisclosed ailment.

According to hospital records he has been seen at Aminu Kano Teaching Hispital about seven times within the last one year , with his last visit on the 10th of January, 2022.

His next appointment with the doctor at AKTH is to be on 7th February, 2022.

Meanwhile, the University Management had taken the body to his home town for burial and other religious rights.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has, on behalf of the University Management condoled with the family and friends of the deceased and prayed Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

The late Babangida Ahmad was described as a very kind hearted, jovial and very friendly who relate well with his colleagues.
