A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has dismissed a case filed by Aminu Wali faction of the PDP challenging the conduct of state and local government party congresses.
Solacebase reports that the plaintiffs had approached the court in June seeking nullification of the ward congresses held on march 17th 2020 for being excluded from contesting the election.
The PDP in its defense argued that the matter is internal affairs of the party and the plaintiffs lacked locus standi to challenge the party in court without exhausting internal party mechanism.

Justice Lewis Allagoa agreed with the submission of the party that the action is statutes barred having been filed 85 days after the course of action arose and therefore struck out the suit.
The judge also dismissed the motion on joinder filed by two other members of the party for lack of merit.
Solacebase reports that while the Aminu Wali faction of the PDP has indicated Interest to participate in the forthcoming local councils’ election in Kano as the Kwankwasiyya faction said it will not participate in the election.
