A Senior Magistrate Court No 16 of No Man’s Land in Kano state has remanded a politician Yarima Sulaiman Ibrahim of Tudun Maliki area till January 21, 2019.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Ibrahim Khalil Mahmood, ordered that the accused to be remanded in prison custody after taking the plea of the accused in court.
Sulaiman Ibrahim, according to the Prosecutor, Inspector Sani Musa told the court that the complainant, Hajiya Aisha Danzago reported that that Yarima Sulaiman Ibrahim defamed and assassinate her character by calling her a cheat in a political programme ‘Harshenka Alqalinka’ aired by a Radio station in Kano.

The accused subsequently pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of defamation of character contrary to section 311 of the penal code.
Chief Magistrate, Ibrahim Khalil Mahmood, then adjourned the matter to January 21,2019 for mentioning .
