COVID-19 : Kano supports private healthcare providers with PPEs

Kano State Government has urged private health practitioners in the state to collaborate with the government in checking the increasing COVID-19 in the state.

The State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje made the call on Saturday at stakeholders meeting with the Guild of Private Medical Directors Kano State Branch on COVID-19 Pandemic 2nd wave update at the government house.

The governor said that his administrations will continue building a synergy with Private health facilities in the fight against COVID-19 Pandemic 2nd wave to the highest capacity until the pandemic is totally defeated.

Dr Abdullahi Ganduje commended the private health practitioners with the support they have mostly being according to the government that is creating more access to quality healthcare services to the residents.

Solacebase reports that the governor subsequently donated personal protective equipment (PPEs) that include 2,000 pieces of medical gowns and 200, 000 pieces of facemasks to the private healthcare providers.

On his part, Chairman, Guild of Private Medical Directors Kano State Branch, Dr Mustapha Abdulkadir lauded the state government over the gesture, promising to always collaborate so as to move the health sector forward.

Speaking with journalists shortly, the Executive Secretary, Kano State Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu commended the governor on the stakeholders meeting geared towards checking the spread of COVID-19 and the distribution of PPEs to the private health care providers, urging them to reciprocate the gesture with collaboration with the government.
