COVID 19:Takaful Insurance Institutes N40m Health Workers Coverage, With N10m Donation To Kano
A renowned insurance company, Takaful insurance operator based in Kano, Salam Takaful Insurance Company Limited has donated N10, 000, 000.00 to the Kano state Fund Raising Committee on COVID-19 to support in alleviating the effects of the dreaded virus on residents.
The newly certified coy by the national regulatory body, the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), which act in full compliance with Shariah Law, also offered Takaful life cover to the value of N40, 000, 000.00 for healthcare workers directly involved in the care of COVID-19 patients.
This was contained in a statement issued by the state commissioner for Information and member of the committee, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Sunday while giving updates on the activities of the committee.

The statement said the donation, which was contained in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the committee, Prof. Yahuza Bello and jointly signed by the Chairman and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Alhaji Misbahu Muhammad Bashir and Abdul A. Kassim respectively as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.
The commissioner in the statement appealed to organizations and wealthy individuals within and outside the state to donate generously towards the committee set up to seek and collect donations in cash or kind and distribute same to those in need so as to cushion the harsh effect of the measures being taken by the government against the spread of COVID-19 in Kano.
