Crisis in Kano APC thickens as 3 senators, 4 reps strategize

The crisis bedeviling the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano thickens as seven federal lawmakers from the state had a nocturnal meeting on how to strategize and seize the party machinery from the governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje led administration .

The three Senators  from the state, two among them, former governors — Kabiru Gaya (APC-Kano South), Ibrahim Shekarau (APC-Kano Central) and Barau Jibrin (APC-Kano North) met on Tuesday night.

The meeting held at the residence of the state two time governor and a former minister, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, though agenda not known but sources said may not be far from among other issues , the Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje’s endorsement of the candidature of Abdullahi Abbas for the chairmanship position of the party in the forthcoming APC state congress election scheduled for October 16^th.

Also in the meeting were House of Representative members, led by the Chairman House Committee on National Security and Intelligence , Sha’aban  Ibrahim Sharada (APC-Kano Municipal), Chairman House Committee on Rural Development, Tijjani Jobe (APC-Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimingado); Haruna Dederi (APC-Karaye/Rogo) and; Nasiru Auduwa (APC-Gabasawa/Gezawa).

Similarly, at the meeting was Alhaji Haruna Dan Zango, a Chairmanship contestant of the party at the forthcoming state congress election on Saturday, October, 16^th.

The powerful faction  were said not to be happy with the administration of the party by the governor, that has allegedly turn the government house to the party secretariat where decisions affecting the party are taken by a select group.

Also, on Wednesday morning according to a facebook post by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad , Said some strong leaders of the party from Kano visited the APC headquarters in Abuja today, with an indication of problem with the party in Kano.

A source confided in Solacebase on Wednesday that the State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje that has systematically been avoiding Senator Ibrahim Shekarau over a period of time, since yester- night has being making frantic effort to get across to the teacher and administrator turned politician.

However, political pundits said apart from late Aminu Kano, Ibrahim Shekarau is a politician that has political structure that can change tune of political move from the ward to the state level considering the fact that his followers so much believe in political ideology not material gains or position.
