S’ Court Judgement: Despite stiff pressure, Tinubu refused to interfere- Gov Yusuf

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has lauded President Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima for not interfering in the Supreme Court judgement.

Gov. Yusuf said the president and his vice despite pressure from some disgruntled elements, refused to compromise to interfere in the judgment that gave him victory.

SOLACEBASE had reported that the Supreme Court on Friday reversed the sacking of Abba Kabir Yusuf by the election petition tribunal and the appeal court.

The visibly elated Governor stated this while briefing newsmen at the premises of the Supreme Court in Abuja on Friday.

A statement issued by Aliyu Yusuf, Director Public Enlightenment, Government House Kano, on Saturday, said Abba also appreciated NNPP leaders at all levels, particularly the world leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso for his guidance and support during the trying period.

According to the statement, the governor extended an olive branch to his opponent, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, ‘’ Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf as the duly elected Governor of the state,  extended  hands of friendship  to his opponent of the APC, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna for the  development of the state.’’

It reads,” As a true democrat and progressive, I Call on my opponent and his supporters to join hands with me in the crusade of developing our dear state Kano for the betterment of its teaming citizens.

“People of Kano need leaders with vision, passion, zeal, and commitment of initiating projects, policies, and programs that have a direct bearing on their lives in all facets and across  nooks and crannies of the state.” Governor Abba stated.

Alhaji Abba Kabir thanked Almighty Allah, the most exalted for the victory, commending the people of Kano for their support, steadfastness, prayers, sacrifices, and brevity in affirming what they have elected as well as the Supreme Court Judges for upholding the glory of the Judiciary.
