The DFID Lafiya Support for Health in Nigeria is supporting Kano State Government to conduct mapping of all private health facilities in the 484 wards of the State.
The Executive Secretary Private Health Institutions Management Agency ( PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu announced this at a stakeholders meeting held in the state on Saturday.

He said the mapping of all private health facilities that include hospitals, pharmacy shops, patent medical stores, nursing homes and diagnostic centres using GPRS will enable the Ministry of Health to acquire accurate digital database on all private health facilities in the state.
In a remark at the meeting, Kano state team lead of DFID program, Alh. Dayyabu Muhammad Yusuf stated that the mission of the program is to support and improve the private health sector in the country and the state in particular.
The team leader added that the program will strengthen the public-private partnership amongst private health facilities.
The meeting was attended by representatives from different professional bodies, their associations, regulatory bodies and other regulatory agencies; the Ministry of Health (MOH), Hospital Management Board( HMB), Nigeria Medical Association, National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, Association of Radiologists of Nigeria, Guild of Medical Directors, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, ACPN, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria and National Association of Patent Medical vendors.
