Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA) has elected Dr Murtala Muhammad of Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, as National Auditor.
Dr Muhammad was unanimously elected at the 33rd Conference of the Association, held at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State on Thursday, 27th May.
Solacebase reports that Dr Murtala Muhammad, presently an Associate Professor at the School of General Studies, Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil and before now a part-time lecturer at the Political Science Department, Bayero University, Kano would hold the office for two years effective from 2021 to 2023.
Other elected officers are Prof. Hassan Saliu, President; Prof. Makodi Biereenu-Nnabugwu, Vice-President; Dr Adebola Rafiu Bakare, Secretary-General; Dr Jude Cocodia, Assistant Secretary.
Similarly, the other members are Dr Rasheed Muhammad, Treasurer; Prof. Robert Dode, Financial Secretary; Dr Ahmed Wali Doho, Publicity Secretary; Dr Audu Jocob, Legal Adviser; Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okoli, Ex-Officio I; Dr Yusuf Musa Yahaya, Ex-Officio 2; and Prof. Gafar Idowu Ayodeji, Director of Research and Publications.

Murtala Muhammad obtained B. Sc. Political Science; Masters in Public Policy and Administration and M. Sc. Political Science from Bayero University, Kano; Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and PhD in International and Strategic Studies from University of Malaya, Malaysia.
He held several communal positions locally and internationally among which are President, Corpers Welfare Association; Corp Liaison Officer; Chairman, Joint Action Committee, comprising of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institution (NASU) and Nigeria Association of Academic Technologies (NAAT).

Internationally, he was Secretary, Nigerian Students’ Community, University of Malaya (NiSCUM). He was President, University of Malaya Postgraduate Students’ Association and Coordinator, Postgraduate Students’ Seminar, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya.
