The Education Minister, Malam Adamu Adamu, on Friday morning, lost his mother, Hajia Fatima Adamu Gamawa, at the age of 107.
She was believed to be the oldest woman in Azare where she had lived virtually all her life after migrating from Katagum as a young lady more than ninety years ago.
According to the bereaved Minister, speaking from Azare on Friday while receiving condolences, late Hajia Fatima retained all her faculties, was alert and active until her death “due to old age.’’
The deceased is survived by six children – three males and three females- Malam Lawal Adamu, Hon. Ibrahim Adamu, a politician in Bauchi, Malam Adamu Adamu, Hajia Hafsat Mohammed, Hajia Hauwa’u Taudo and Hajia Iya Abubakar- and many grandchildren.
