EFCC Chair nominee, Bawa denies corruption allegation
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Chairman nominee, Abdulrasheed Bawa, on Wednesday, denied selling the seized property in EFCC custody at its Port Harcourt Zonal office.
Bawa who is currently being screened at the Senate plenary, also insisted that he was qualified to be the Chairman of the Commission based on the provisions of the EFCC Act.
It would be recalled that an online news newspaper (Not Solacebase) had alleged that Mr Bawa was arrested and detained by the Agency under former acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, over the illegal sale of 244 forfeited trucks to proxies in Port Harcourt.
The nominee said the seized property in Port Harcourt were properly disposed off by the agency’s officials from its headquarters.
