The President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger Prof Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has urged Nigerians to intensify prayers over the current situation the world has found itself.
He made the statement in a goodwill message to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
“I’m urging Nigerians to pray hard towards seeing an end of the global pandemic of COVID-19, as we completed fasting in the month of Ramadan, we should sacrifice our prayers and devotions to Almighty Allah to bring an end of the pandemic so that the world will go back to its normal business”, said the statement.
According to the statement,’’ While describing the pandemic as a trial by Almighty Allah, “it is a call for us to devote more to Allah by doing what will please Him”.
Prof. Gwarzo in the statement described the witnessing of the occasion of the eid-el- fitr celebration as a privilege. “It is not by our power but by the power of Almighty Allah, May Allah forgives our sins, reward our ibadah and grant us the opportunity of witnessing many more”.
