The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kano Command, has deployed 1,354 personnel comprising 741 Regular and 613 Special Marshals for a special Operations towards ensuring hitch-free 2020 Eid-el-Kabir celebration which commenced from 22nd July 2020.
This was contained in a statement issued by the command Public Relations Officer, Kabir Ibrahim Daura and sent to Solacebase on Tuesday.
‘’The personnel are engaged in ensuring safe and smooth vehicular traffic flow as well as giving prompt attention to Road traffic crash victims within the period. 16 Patrol vehicles, 3 Ambulances and 1 heavy-duty truck, as well as other operational equipment, were deployed to facilitate effective operations,’’ said the statement.

Solacebase reports that the main focus of the special Operations is checking overloading violations and all life-threatening traffic infractions.
Others include massive Public sensitization campaigns and Post-crash emergency response.
It said the Operation also concentrates on ensuring compliance with the new guidelines on inter-State travels issued by the Presidential task force on Covid-19.
According to the statement, the Command together with all the transport Unions and Kano State Government is enforcing compliance with the guidelines in Motor Parks and various Terminus across the State.
‘’The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Zubairu Mato, therefore, call on Drivers, prospective Passengers, and other Motor Park workers to support and comply with the guidelines particularly on the use of hand sanitizers before boarding, use of face masks and ensuring social distancing while on board. So that the spread of the COVID-19 can be minimized while on inter-state travels.’’
‘’The Command also wishes to warn the general motoring public, particularly parents that are in the habit of giving their wards vehicles to drivers who are below the age of 18 during festive seasons to desist from that, as sanction awaits erring violators.’’
