El-Rufai attends slain Kaduna lawmaker’s funeral

The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai has attended the funeral prayers of the slain member of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rilwan Aminu Gadagau.

Solacebase reports that Rilwan Aminu Gadagau who represented Giwa West Constituency was shot by bandits along the Kaduna-Zaria Road on Monday.

A statement issued by Kaduna State Commissioner, Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan , said the Governor was received at the Haruna Danja Jumma’a Mosque located at Tudun Wada in Zaria by the Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani and other lawmakers.

‘’The Governor after the funeral prayers described Gadagau as a lawmaker who was committed and dedicated to his constituents and the state at large. He prayed for the repose of his soul, and the souls of other citizens lost in recent attacks in the state, ‘’said the statement.

Recall that, Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, was killed along the Kaduna-Zaria Highway, by bandits.

The lawmaker, who represented Giwa Constituency of the state, was the Chairman of the Committee on Local Government and Rural Development in the Assembly.

Gadagau was reported to have been killed on Monday night by bandits who attacked travellers along the road. The body of the lawmaker was later discovered on Wednesday morning.

Kaduna lawmaker
