Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has asked the state High Court to strike out a judicial review application filed by Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II seeking to quash his indictment in an interim report of the commission.
Solacebase recalled that the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission had recommended the suspension of the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II in a preliminary report of misappropriation of the Emirate fund.
The commission in the report said it uncovered N3.4 billion was misspent by the emirate under Emir Sanusi.

The amount was said to have been misappropriated between 2014 and 2017
The emir’s Counsel Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud SAN appealed to the court to give parties time to regularize their processes following the refusal of the state high Court one to grant the emir leave to proceed with the judicial review application which ought to be a motion experte.
But rather the court ordered them to serve the 3 respondents in the case.
Counsel to the commission Professor Sylvester Shittu SAN objected to the request, asking the court to strike out the suit.

Meanwhile, the legal suit filed by chief of staff to the Emir, Mannir Sanusi and 2 others challenging powers of the commission to investigate them was stalled because of a pending application to join the private secretary and Kano emirate council in the case.
