Facts behind death of 16 Kano indigenes on Kaduna-Zaria road-KDSG

Kaduna State Government says, the 16 Kano state indigenes died in an accident and were not killed by bandits on the Kaduna-Abuja Road.

The State Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan made the clarification in a statement on Thursday.

Solacebase reports that a section of the media reported that about 16 indigenes of Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State were killed by gunmen along Abuja-Kaduna Highway.

They reported that the victims, all males, died on Tuesday when gunmen shot the tyre of the vehicle (a bus) that was conveying them from Abuja back to Kano.

‘’The story that 16 indigenes of Kano State were killed by bandits on the Kaduna-Abuja Road is incorrect and misleading, ‘’said the statement.

According to the statement, the fact is, they perished at the Rigachikun axis of Kaduna-Zaria Road in a road accident following a burst tyre.

‘’Our deep condolences go to their families, as we pray that their souls rest in peace. We also wish those who sustained injuries speedy recovery. ‘’
