The federal government has commended Kano State Government for the establishment of a Governing Board for the State Primary Health Care Management Board in the state.
An official of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mr Adeniyi Ekisila lauded the effort at the opening of a 3-day Workshop for the members of the State Primary Health Care Management Board and Management Staff of the Board, holding in Kaduna State.
A statement issued by Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board Public Relations Officer, Maikudi Muhammad Marafa said Mr. Ekisila urged the state government to continue giving priority attention to the sector with a view to achieving the implementation of the Project in the state.
‘’The Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Management, Dr Tijjani Hussaini represented by the Director Medical Services Dr Imam Wada, explained that the aim of the workshop is to intimate the members of the Governing Board on their roles and responsibilities toward the implementation of the Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) policy in the State,’’ said the statement.

‘’He then commended National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Developmental Partners especially Lafiya Project for their efforts in organizing the workshop. ‘’
According to the Chairman Governing Board Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, Sarkin Yakin Kano, Madakin Gaya, Alhaji Wada Aliyu Gaya, described the workshop as timely and reiterated commitment to support the process of Primary Health care Management Implementation in the State.
Solacebase reports that papers on the implementation of the program are expected to be presented during the 3-day workshop being conducted in Kaduna.
