JUST IN: FG revokes houses allocated to National Housing Programme subscribers

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has revoked provisional letters of allocation offered to subscribers of the National Housing Programme.

A statement signed by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Mahmud Mamman, and made available to reporters on Friday, confirmed the development.

The statement was titled, “Review Of Sale Of Houses Under National Housing Programme.”

The ministry, claiming to review the conditions and procedures of sales of the houses, said the affected subscribers include beneficiaries of the programme from the first batch to the 14th batch.

The statement read, “I write to inform the general public and the subscribers of the National Housing Programme, particularly those with Provisional Offer of Allocation of Housing Units under the ongoing National Housing Programme, that the Provisional Letter of Offer of Allocation made to them are now invalid.

“The invalidity affects the First Batch of Provisional Offers of Allocation issued on December 10, 2021, which has 90 days validity period that elapsed on March 10, 2022, up to the last Batch of (14th Batch) issued on July 18, 2023, which also has a validity period of 90 days that elapsed on October 18, 2023.

“The Ministry is currently in the process of revising the conditions and procedures of sales of the houses and will publicise same in due course when concluded.”

The statement further stated, “By this information, All interested subscribers who are yet to pay for the Houses offered them are given a grace time to Thursday, 30th November 2023 to make their payment.”
