Former Nigerian internationals, nollywood celebrities set for KHF event to commemorate World Heart’s Day

As part of efforts by Kanu Heart Foundation to celebrate this year’s World Heart’s Day, all plans have been concluded to make the event a success.

This was confirmed in a statement by the Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the event, Mo Muhammed Mustapha, on Friday.

Mr Mustapha added the LOC under his watch have made all necessary arrangements for this year’s event to surpass that of the previous year held in Lagos.

The theme for 2021 is titled “Walk with Nwankwo Kanu” and is expected to take place on the 29th of September, 2021 in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

The Kanu Heart Foundation was founded in the year 2000 by former Super Eagles captain,  Nwankwo Kanu to provide succour for those suffering from undiagnosed heart disease and provide them surgery.

Solacebase recalls that the Atlanta 1996 Olympics Gold medalist and former Arsenal of England striker suffered a congenital heart defect but eventually had a successful surgery.

The World Health Organisation, WHO has set aside 29th September annually to celebrate World Heart’s Day with the aim of increasing awareness of cardiovascular diseases and how to control them to negate their global impact.
