Ganduje mourns death of Kano Yoruba community leader, Chief Muri Jawando

The death of the renowned philanthropist of repute, leader of the Kano Yoruba Community, and former President of Rotary Club, Chief Muri Jawando, has been described by governor  Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as shocking and a loss not only to the Yoruba community in Kano but also to the state.

“We received the death of the leader of Kano Yoruba community, Chief Muri Jawando with shock. His death is but a setback to people, a setback that will not be allowed to bear fruits. We will do our best to see that people feel little impact about his death, as time moves on,” he said.

This was contained in a condolence message issued and signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar, on Wednesday.

Solacebase reports that Chief Muri Jawando died on May 17^th in Kano.

‘’Governor Ganduje urged Yorubas and leaders of other communities to take a leaf from late Jawando, in the area of imbibing a culture of peaceful coexistence, persistent harmony among ethnic nationalities and philanthropic activities, ‘’said the statement.

He prayed God to give his family, Yoruba community, friends and Rotary Club the fortitude to bear the loss of the rare gem, “…whose gentle approach to issues of national cohesion earned him respect from our eyes, as a government and his people,” governor reveals.

“We are urging his family not to derail from the good foundation he laid during his lifetime. He was always ready to be among the leading instruments for national integration and development,” he concludes.
