Ganduje’s absence stalls peace process to address APC crisis in Kano

The absence of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has stalled the peace process initiated by the All Progressives Congress reconciliatory meeting to address issues of the warring factions of the party in Kano again, Solacebase can report authoritatively.

Solacebase reports that the APC in Kano is factionalized with Senator Ibrahim Shekarau leading a group while Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje is heading the other faction.

The two factions held ward, local government and state parallel congresses that produced Ahmadu Haruna Danzago as Chairman for the Senator Shekarau’s side as Abdullahi Abbas emerged from the Gov. Ganduje group.

Subsequent upon this the Shekarau side headed for an FCT High Court which later upheld the congresses of the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s  side as against the Gov. Ganduje led group.

Dissatisfied with the rulings the Ganduje side proceeded to Appeal Court to challenge the the High Court verdict.

The appellate court has reserved judgment in the suit.

A very reliable source in the party told Solacebase , on Tuesday, that absence of the governor last week stalled the peace process as the Abdullahi Ganduje’s faction at the meeting led by Senator Kabiru Gaya told the meeting that the governor did not gave them mandate for any commitment to whatever was discussed at the meeting, hence another meeting was scheduled for today.

However, the Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker leadership of the party on Tuesday gave Governor Ganduje up to Thursday to choose a time and date for the meeting so that the issues could be address.

Solacebase contacted Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar on why the governor was not at the meeting twice but his phone was not going through.
