Kano State Government has described as fake a letter circulating on the social media conveying the sacking of the Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.

Special Adviser on Media to the governor, Malam Saliu Tanko Yakasai made the denial in an interview with Solacebase on Wednesday.

Solacebase reports that a letter sacking Kano State Commissioner for Local Government, Murtala Sule Garo has been trending since Tuesday night with a purported signature of  Malam Saliu Tanko Yakasai as Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor.

Speaking to Solacebase on the issue, Malam Saliu Tanko Yakasai said the purported letter was not carrying the official letterhead of the state government apart from the fact that the title of the commissioner in the letter was even wrong.

‘’The letterhead is fake as it is not the official letterhead of the state government and also the commissioner’s title is commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, not commissioner for local government and community development as postulated in the letter, ‘’Yakasai said.
