Zamfara state governor Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari on Friday directed all security chiefs in the state to kill any person found with AK47 rifle illegally roaming about the state.
Governor Abdul’aziz Yari gave the directive today at Anka Emir’s palace while Condoling with people of the emirate over the recent attack that claims many lives of innocent people at Bawar Daji village of the area.
The Governor also ordered the state council of chiefs to fish out any traditional ruler in any part of the state playing with security issues in his domain and replace him with the right person.
Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar who was visibly emotional over the ugly acts of criminals in different parts of the state said his administration will never relent effort in protecting lives and property of people across the state.
“I challenged you all, security agencies to wake up in the fight against all criminal activities in the state as we would provide you necessary supports and logistics to deal with the situation “, Gov. Yari
In a remark, the Emir of Anka and Chairman state council of chiefs Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad alleged that negligence and lack of taking serious action by Security Agencies and Judges against arrested criminals in the state are the main reasons behind improving insecurity in the state.
Solacebase reports that over 60 people were allegedly killed during the week. It was reported that the gunmen attacked the people during the burial of those killed on Wednesday. However the Zamfara Police Command confirmed the death of 15 persons.
During a recent visit to the state by President Muhammadu Buhari, he directed security agents to bring an end to the killings which is yet to stop.
Also a Senator from Zamfara had accused the governor AbdulAziz Yari of knowing those behind the attacks but refused to check the situation
Although on 10th March this year Zamfara state government confirmed the killing of a notorious criminal Buharin Daji who was said to be leader of Cattle rustling syndicate that mostly attack the state and environs
