Gov. Yusuf, Ganduje mourn Leadership Newspapers correspondent, Abdullahi Yakubu

Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed grief over the death of Kano State Leadership Newspapers Correspondent, Abdullahi Yakubu.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Gov. Malam Ibrahim Shuiabu, on Friday in Kano.

”Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo has on behalf of  Governor Abba  Yusuf, extended his condolences to the family of late Abdullahi Yakubu.”

Yakubu passed away on Friday, aged 55, after a brief illness.

Gov. Yusuf expressed sympathy and acknowledged the loss that late Abdullahi’s demise had caused.

The leadership of the Correspondents Chapel of NUJ,  Kano had on Friday announced the death of Yakubu.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Garko, and made available to newsmen in Kano.

Garko described the late journalist as a gentleman who died at a time his services to humanity were needed.

Meanwhile, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has also expressed his deepest condolences to the Nigeria Union Journalists, (NUJ),  Kano State branch, and the Kano State Correspondents Chapel,  the Management of Leadership Newspaper over the demise of Malam Abdullahi Yakubu of the Leadership newspaper limited.

‘’Words cannot express how saddened His Excellency the APC National Chairman felt when he learned of the passing of the hardworking journalist who contributed immensely to the growth of our dear state,’’ a statement issued by Ganduje’s chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, on Friday said.

‘’His Excellency described the loss of the veteran journalist as a big loss to Kano State and the entire northern Nigeria.’’

‘’He prayed that Almighty Allah grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of their pillar of support.’’
