Group petitions Ganduje, Emir of Rano, calls for stripping of Alhassan Doguwa of Sardauna’s title

A Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Voice of Conduct and Integrity Groups has petitioned Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Emir of Rano, Ambassador Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa to strip House of Representatives Majority Leader, Alhasan Ado Doguwa of the ‘Sardaunan Rano’ over conduct unbecoming of a traditional title holder.

The NGO in its petition recalled an act of Alhasan Ado Doguwa gate-crashing into a meeting at the deputy governor’s residence last Monday, where Doguwa assaulted the Kano State All Progressives Congress, deputy governorship candidate, Murtala Sule Garo.

The petition signed by Auwal Ibrahim Yunus for the Chairman said the act and attitude of Alhassan Ado Doguwa negates the respect of traditional title holders and abuse to the institution.

The NGO described the act as unruly and highly condemnable considering the fact that Alhassan Doguwa was even wearing the regalia of his traditional title when he committed the shameful act.

‘’Stripping him of the traditional title will serve as deterrent to others on how a leader should behave in the society,’’ the petition reads

It noted that Kano State is recognized internationally as home traditional institution with respect and value, hence this sort of incidence should not be allowed to rob it of such esteem.
