How Future Assured Improve Womenfolk

SINCE Beijing Platform for Action on women of 1996 (known as Beijing international conference) which was agreed on by all 189 countries where it has created benchmarks for achieving women’s empowerment and advancement as an investment for societies. 

Since then many pet project emancipations campaign were initiated by the wives of former presidents, wives of the former state governors, local and international NGOs and aimed at improving the wellbeing of Womenfolk in the country.

But still the goals of setting such pet project emancipations still far from achieving progression of  women’s and children’s   as still  suffer  obstacles  to  achieving  equality  with  men,  and  that  further  progress  is  hindered  especially  by  the  poverty  suffered  by  so  many women and children.

Even the tasks were not easy one and its need massive awareness campaign by engaged traditional and religious leaders and only these efforts yielding results, as women to some extent.

The Wife of the president, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, unveiled her pet project, “Future Assure,” sometime in 2016, when hosted for the wives of the Heads of Foreign Missions in Nigeria at the presidential villa, Abuja said, “Future Assure,” was sets to advocate improved health and promotion of health status of the vulnerable and marginalized section of the Nigerian population.

Since then she has been in and out of Nigeria, Africa and beyond aimed at championing the cause and improvements of general wellbeing of women and youth, promoting girl child education through project.

Her campaign for active participation of women leads to development of peaceful and just society, whereas the   overall development of women in the country, focus must be given on factors like health, education, gender-friendly laws, strong political commitment for women development, mainstreaming of women issues, empowerment, and increment of women participation and creation of effective environment for development.

Future Assured has strategic Vision toward  closing stages of Preventable Maternal, New born and Child deaths through advocacy and the strengthening of accountability mechanisms in order to enhance the peace and development of Nigeria.

“Future Assure is at the forefront of the campaign for women and girl-child education, supports school girls with school bags and writing materials across the country. Aisha Buhari has been on the front line of protecting the Rights of Women and Children that have suffered gender-based violence including battery and rape.

On Youth Education Empowerment Programme (YEEP)  she lend a hand to the large number of youths struggling to transit from secondary to tertiary institutions through tutorial classes, for WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and JAMB.

Pilot already successful and scale up being discussed with stakeholders. On achieving economic empowerment of women’s across the country Future Assure initiated Pilots in Kano, Katsina and Lagos were over 5000 trained in various trades.

The project also encourage women farmers, to take advantage of opportunities provided by government agricultural policy and women farmers provided with improved seedlings, fertilizer and other agricultural inputs especially in the area of fisheries, livestock and poultry.

In the area of empowerment, skills/entrepreneurship training has taken place in many states. These include paint making, leatherwork, bead making, cosmetics, perfumery, fashion design, barbing and saloon, etc.

She recently acquired 40 rice milling machines and 45 fish driers for the use of women farmers across the country at no cost to them.

The first batch of 500 youths have undergoing training in paint making, leatherwork, barbing/pedicure/manicure as well as fish and rabbit farming in Kano, in line with her focus on youth.

Many families have also been supported with grinding mills, sewing machines, rickshaws and spaghetti makers.

In the area of medical facilities infrastructure development, her Future Assured program has constructed a fully equipped maternity complex at the Daura General Hospital, Katsina State, with a view to expanding the network of maternity services accessible to women across the country.

The foundation has also embarked on the building another 70 beds antenatal and maternity clinic within the premises of Federal Medical Centre Yola while the projected completed with cater for the health need of the people of Adamawa, Brano,Gombe and Taraba as well as neighboring Cameroon Republic.

Future Assured also assist Internal Displace Persons (IDPs) that return to their communities with relief materials including foodstuff, clothing, beddings, plastic containers, mats, blankets, and building materials.

Many boreholes have been constructed in communities with water problems and even IDP camps.  Over 6 trailer loads of roofing zinc, roofing and noggin wood, assorted nails and asbestos ceiling were distributed.  Parents of Buni Yadi Boys and Chibok girls were supported with 55 million naira.

The wife of the President Aisha  Buhari and First Lady of Niger Republic introduced a project to rally first Ladies of West African states to adopt a strategy that allows them to provide adequate social and economic support to refugee women and children in the Lake Chad Basin.

Hajia Aisha Buhari was appointed Global TB Champion by the Stop TB Partnership and Special Ambassador for the elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV by Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) in recognition of her work in health advocacy.

She addressed the General Assembly’s High Level Meeting on Tuberculosis, where she will speak to issues of increased political commitment, funding and robust partnerships on the 26th September, 2018.

On the Sidelines of Organization of African First Ladies against AIDS (OAFLA), Aisha Buhari will attend a number of high level events including a Stakeholders Meeting on Breast and Cervical Cancers in Africa and another on HIV as well as a strategic planning workshop for First Ladies and their Technical Advisers.

These recorded success has not clogged Founder from achieving her aspiration of empowering the disadvantaged one in the society and needy to   collaborations with many partners which the partnership has been making significant impact towards safeguarding the welfare of women, children and youth and also to develop the potentials of women, youths, and other vulnerable group beneficiaries including strengthening communities towards sustainable development across Nigeria.

Women, adolescents, youths and other young and vulnerable people are at the heart of the organization’s work and programme interest through Future Assured.

Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari is highly resourceful and self-motivated humanitarian, goals oriented personality with the strength, ability and interest toward improving the lives of women, girl education, Education, Adolescent Health & Demographic Dividend.

She is personality that attracts confidence and trust, a visionary full of interpersonal skills with great sense of direction to achieve humanitarian’s role and responsibility.

In fact she has also formed key strategic partnerships with local, state, national and even international organizations to deliver locally on nationally driven priorities and taken a unified approach and channel its local experience into influencing policies and practices which  have direct bearing on women, children, youths and other vulnerable population.

Her humanitarian activities have caught the attention of the world especially through Future Assure  made  two South Korea  universities i.e. Sun Moon University Asean South Korea to honour her with doctorate degree in Humanity and another South Korea Ajou University in Suwon accorded her with world leadership award.
