Insecurity: Provide useful information to security agents- NUJ urges public

Nigeria Union of Journalists on Saturday urged the public to always support security agencies with useful information so as to curtail increasing security challenges facing the nation.

The Union called on parents to ensure proper monitoring of their wards so as to guard against associating with bad company and indulging in social vices.

This was contained in a communique jointly signed by Kano Council Chairman and Secretary, NUJ, Comrade Abbass Ibrahim and Abba Murtala, respectively after a congress meeting held on Saturday.

‘’The congress calls on Kano Independent Electoral Commission KANSIEC to ensure peaceful electioneering campaigns and credible election of the 44 local government councils, ‘’said the communique.

‘’The congress advises public to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 protocols due to the emergence of the second wave of the deadly virus calling on Kano state task force on COVID-19 to step up efforts to achieve set goals.’’

‘’The Congress advises people in the state to adhere strictly to fire prevention rules as the harmattan season is around the corner. ‘’

The congress condoled the former Governor of Kano state, Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso over the death of his father, Makaman Karaye, District Head of Madobi, Alh Musa Saleh Kwankwaso and the families of former member house of representative representing Fagge constituency, Danlami Hamza.

It also condoled the families of Permanent Secretary Ministry of Rural and Community development, Alh. Abba Ladan Kailani, and our colleagues who lost their loved ones including, SSA information, Abdul Umar Farouk, Nura Sani Sheka, who lost their sisters and Hauwa Suleiman Zaharaddeen who lost her mother as well as Usman Gwadabe who lost his elder brother.
