The Court of Appeal Kaduna Division on Thursday orders INEC to recognize Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada as Kano Municipal federal House of Representatives candidate of APC in the election scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 23., 2019.
Solacebase recalled that a Kano Federal High Court presided by Justice Saadatu Ibrahim in January had upheld the result of the party’s primary election which produced Muhrtar Ishaq Yakasai as the APC candidate.
Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada is a Personal Assistant to Ppresident Muhammadu Buhari on Broadcast Media.
The Court ordered INEC and APC to remove Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai’s name and replaced with Sha’abaan Ibrahim Sharada faulting the judgement of the Federal High Court, Kano.
In a lead judgment read by Justice Hussaini Mukhtar said the primary election conducted by the National Working Committee of the APC that produced Sha’abaan Ibrahim Sharada is the one recognized by the law hence there was a miscarriage of judjement from the lower court.
The court then awarded cost of N100,000 against the defendant Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai in the suit to be paid to the plaintiff , Sha’abaan Ibrahim Sharada
