The Federal Government on Wednesday ordered the immediate closure of the ongoing National Youth Corps Service camps nationwide over coronavirus fears.
Although the 2020 Batch A Stream One NYSC members that arrived camp on March 4 are initially expected to leave on March 29.
However, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, early on Wednesday, said the NYSC members would be released to resume at their places of the primary assignment immediately.

The Minister sent a tweet that the closure was a precautionary measure on coronavirus.
According to the tweet, “Today across the country, the NYSC Orientation camps will be closed and Youth Corpers will be paid and sent to their places of primary assignment.
The tweet reads, “This again is a precautionary measure on the part of the government to check the spread of COVID-19. The DG NYSC will provide details.’’
Meanwhile, Some Corps Members who spoke to Solacebase in Kano in a telephone interview confirmed that they were informed this morning that they would be release to leave for their various primary place of assignment today.
