UPDATED: Kano Assembly Impeaches Majority Leader, Abdul Madari
Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday impeached the Majority Leader, Abdul Labaran Madari.
The impeachment at plenary today followed a motion of urgent importance moved by the member representing Bunkure constituency, Muhammad Uba Gurjiya.
Muhammad Uba Gurjiya announced that 22 members of the house are in support of the motion for the impeachment. Shortly after which member representing Dambatta Constituency, Murtala Musa Kore expressed intention to be joined as a supporter of the motion to impeach the Majority Leader.

The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa then asked for the adoption of the motion which the house answered in affirmative.
Subsequently, member representing Sumaila Constituency Zubairu Hamza Masu moved a motion nominating deputy majority leader, Kabiru Hassan Dashi as the new Majority Leader and member representing Minjibir Constituency, Tasi’u Ibrahim Zabainawa as the new Deputy Majority Leader.
The motion was then seconded by member representing Karaye, Nasiru Abdullahi Dutsen Amare which was then passed and approved.
