JUST IN: Kano deputy speaker dumps APC
Deputy Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly , Zubairu Hamza Massu has dumped the All Progressive Congress, (APC).
In a letter addressed to the APC Chairman, Massu Ward, Sumaila Local Government and sighted by Solacebase, was titled ‘’ Resignation of my membership of All Progressives Congress (APC) party.’’
Massu said in the letter, that the decision to resign from the party was mainly due to unjust treatment, inadequate internal democracy and the total marginalization of Kano South from a lot of opportunities.
“Following the recent happening in the party coupled with a series of consultation with my constituents, supporter and stakeholders in Sumaila and Kano South in general, I write to notify you of my intention and decision to resign as a member of All Progressives
Congress Party (APC),” the letter read in part.
Confirming the development to Solacebase in an exclusive interview on Thursday, Zubairu Massu said basically, the maltreatment of former House of Representatives member , Kawu Abdulrahman Sumaila by the party was the main reasonfor him to dump the party.
‘’You see Kawu Sumaila was not fairly treated in 2019 and the party pleaded with us at that period, however, we are already seeing the same signs of a repeat of that situation hence we need to take a decision to right the wrong in that direction, Massu told Solacebase.
When asked which party he would be pitching tent with, the lawmaker said he was still consulting and hopefully would announce his new party on Friday.
However, many believed that he was defecting to NNPP as Kawu Sumaila has already defected to the party
