JUST IN: Police Arrest Reps Member, Council Chairman Over Attack On Kwankwaso’s Convoy In Kano

Kano Police Command on Friday arrested member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, Abdulmumini Jubril , Chairman, Bebeji local government council Ali Namadi and 26 others over the attack on the convoy of former governor of Kano, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso during a political rally at Kofar, Bebeji local government area of the state.

Solacebase recalled that the attack on the convoy was allegedly carried out by suspected thugs loyal to Abdulmumini Jubril when the PDP team were trying to pass through the village, that led to the death of two persons , injuring of 16 others and the destruction of over 40 vehicles.

The Command spokesman DSP Abdullahi Haruna confirmed this to newsmen on Friday, noting that five vehicles were destroyed today also in the area.

He said the Council Chairman and Secretary of the local government were arrested based on information that they allegedly supervised the burning of five vehicles on Friday at the village.

He said that the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 1, Dan Bature, and the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, visited  the scene of the clash on Friday and ordered the arrest of the lawmaker.

He said the lawmaker is presently with other suspects at the Police Criminal Investigation Department, Bompai Headquarters undergoing interrogation.

Solacebase reports that Abdulmumini Jubril is an APC lawmaker and was a former Chairman of Appropriation Committee at the House of Representatives.

He is also a contestant in tomorrow election in Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency.
