JUST IN: Prof. Yakubu hands over INEC leadership
INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Monday handed over to AVM Muazu Ahmad (rtd), the most senior National Commissioner as acting Chairman of the commission as his tenure ended today.
Solacebase reports that AVM Muazu Ahmad will act as acting Chairman, pending confirmation of Prof. Mahmood Yakubu by the Senate.
The handover exercise took place at the INEC headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
Recall President Muhammadu Buhari recently reappointed Prof. Mahmood Yakubu recently as INEC Chairman for another 5 years subject to confirmation.
