Kano Anti Graft Agency Creates Portals For Suggestions On Good Governance

Kano State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has approved the Rehabilitation of Public Suggestion Department of the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission to enhance its efficiency in Gathering public opinions on Government’s programs and projects.

The chairman of the Commission Barr Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado stated this when he visited the department’s office at Goron Dutse.in the metropolis.

The Commission Director Special Assignment Usman Bello confirmed this in a press release sent to Solacebase on Wednesday

The statement said the rehabilitation of the office was out of the Governor’s desire to boost its efficiency in order to enhance people’s participation as well as build more public confidence in governance.

It said Barr Muhuyi Magaji said in order to provide more avenues for people to channel their views at this communication age , the commission has already developed portal in addition to the boxes for people to send their suggestions on any issue for government attention which will be appropriately passed to the concerned MDAs for action.

He further disclosed that the commission has also completed arrangements for the replacement of old and worn-out boxes across the state for people that have no access to the internet to drop their suggestions.

Solacebase recalled that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has transferred the management of the suggestion boxes, which was hitherto under cabinet office, to the commission as a department.

Barr Muhuyi Magaji further stated that the commission has commenced the renovation of the office adding that the computer unit will be established with internet facilities for effective analysis and deployment of all suggestions to concerned authorities as well as monitoring of actions taken.

He said the commission will be preparing periodic reports to the governor on the suggestions aggregated and actions taken by the MDAs.
