Kano Anti-Graft Agency Sensitizes Students On Fighting Corruption

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday held an interactive session with students of Government Secondary School Rano at the school premises, in its effort to inculcate the spirit of fighting corruption in the minds of younger generation.

The Chairman of the Commission, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado led the team to the school as an encouragement to the effort of the school’s Anti-Corruption Club.

During the meeting, the chairman highlighted the negative effects of corruption in the society.

A statement issued by Director Special Assignment of the state Anti-Graft Commission Usman Bello said, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado emphasized that unless the youth understand the repercussion of corruption and accept voluntarily to shun and fight the evil, the future of the nation is in danger.

“Most of the challenges we are facing in Education, Health, Businesses, and other sectors our social life are directly or indirectly products of corrupt practices in the society.

“Corruption does not mean stealing by public officers only, but covers all evil actions in human endeavors, “said Muhuyi Rimin Gado.

The statement said the chairman then encouraged them not only to avoid any temptation to engage in the corrupt practice, especially exam malpractice and any other negative tendencies but also expose the perpetrators in order to safeguard their future.

It noted that the Chairman assured them of the commission’s commitment to continue to support the school anti-corruption club in order to build a solid force against corruption in schools and the society at large.

Before the commencement of the session, the students recited anthem developed by the school’s Ant-corruption club on the fight against corruption which the Chairman directed sister clubs in other schools to adopt.

The Director of the school Malam Umar Mukaddas Yawale expressed appreciation to the chairman for the support and encourage the commission renders to the school.
